The sun waved goodbye

The sun waved goodbye, calmly and slowly as it tucked its head below the treeline, cleverly peeking through beneath the tufts of leaves which rose from the forest like the oval white puff balls from a bumper crop of cotton – ready to be plucked and sewn into a comfortable twill, that would sit snugly on the back of a long chaise, raising its glass to the falling day.
