Pounded by the Elements

Sometimes we forget the sheer force of nature. Today, for me, was a day to have my memory refreshed.

Endless cyclical waves pushing in and out tossed me around like a twig – no small feat.

The sneaky sun, coyly hiding itself behind a pale layer of clouds, still managed to nip my skin – yes, sunburn. (Luckily, not too bad.)

And the wind wiped off the ocean at refreshing speeds, even sending a coconut crashing to its death as it split its head on a cement walk. (After that, I ran through the trees looking up hoping not having to dodge the falling bombs. After all, more people get killed by falling coconuts than by airplane crashes. It must be true. I read it on the internet.)

Yes, I’m on vacation – having the grandest of times.

(Did I mention the amazing beef curry I had served over coconut rice?)

Enjoy! I am.
