My “Beauty Rising” download goal seems measly when I think about it now.  After a two day free promotion on Kindle for “Beauty Rising”, the results were beyond my wildest dreams. Remember, I had never done this before and I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t expect this:

• An average of 288 downloads an hour for 48 hours. Yeah, do the math! That’s a ton of downloads.

“Beauty Rising” reached the following heights for free Kindle downloads:

• Peaked at #11 overall in Kindle store
• Reached #1 in Contemporary Fiction
• Reached #2 in Literary Fiction

I admit, those numbers are fun to think about. It’s like being a best selling author without the money.

However, to me, none of that is important. What’s important to me is that I put my book in the hands of nearly 14,000 readers. No ad or blog post or giveaway could ever have done that. Now they get to decide what happens to “Beauty Rising” next.

That is the exciting part.

It also makes me excited about my next novel due for release later this year! (more info to come)
