Now streaming! In this episode, I come across a Reagan statue in Rike Park in the center of Tbilisi, Georgia. It surprised me. I took some photos. And as I was sitting there overlooking the Kura River, the statue made perfect sense. I was sitting in the realm of Stalin. He was born in Gori, Georgia just a bit a way from Tbilisi. He was an activist in Tbilisi, and set up an underground printing press around 1903, producing all kinds of anti-Tsar propaganda. Of course, we know what became of Georgia’s infamous son.
As evening came, I no longer had Stalin on my mind, but I did have Putin as I found myself in the middle of a massive anti-Ukranian war. Both of these experiences made complete sense of the Reagan statue.
I’ll break it all down on episode 2 of the Crossing Ideas Podcast.
