I noticed I made an original Scrivener file in July of 2022. That file, over the next three years, turned into my newest novel, coming later in 2026 entitled, Tesler and the Burning Bush. It’s been three years since I published a novel, with Lady Trieu and the Demon Warrior of Hanoi being released in late 2023.
With Tesler, I purposefully took my time. I wanted to get it right. Did I? We shall see. I find it a compelling story, perhaps even a timely story with many of the plotlines paralleling the society we experience on a daily basis.
This story is full of intrigue because the reader won’t know what’s ultimately going on until it’s too late. There are many wild characters and storylines, and it ended up being my longest novel to date. There are also three parts to the story. Here are the titles of the parts:
Part I: The Man Who Destroyed the World (The Present)
Part II: They Who Own the World (8 Years Earlier)
Part III: The Burnishing (The Present)
I have a draft book cover finished. You’ll see it later. It’s actually based on a piece of artwork by my artist neighbor. He showed me one of his paintings entitled “The Burning Bush” right after I had finished this novel. I asked him if I could use it for the cover, and he readily agreed.
But what I can share now is the first blurb I wrote for the book. I would love any comments–especially if you hate it! Then I’ll write a new one. Anyways, here’s the first sneak peak of the novel Tesler and the Burning Bush.
BLURB DRAFT:
Without warning, tech billionaire Alden Tesler destroys his own company, leaves his family, and vanishes. Eight years later, a journalist discovers him living in a remote region of upstate New York. When she confronts him, he shoots her, which forces him back to Manhattan to face the consequences of everything he has done. Everybody wants a piece of him: the government, the news organizations, his former friends, and his wife and son. But no one is prepared for the shocking discovery of what Tesler has been doing for the past eight years.
Thoughts?
(I’ve been writing another book, too. I’ll post about it soon.)
