I’m a teacher. I have, perhaps, the most scenic view of any teacher in the world right out my classroom window. I daily remind myself not to take this view for granted. Not many people in the world can claim such beauty from the chair where they work. So let me me show you what I mean.

I took this photo this past Monday morning as I was walking to my classroom, which is in the foreground. This is looking northward out into the Strait of Malacca. The mountain in the distance is on the Malay Peninsula. If one continues northward, you’ll end up in the Andaman Sea, off the west coast of Thailand. These are the sights that I see daily.

This photo is from the same morning. Now I’m literally standing outside my classroom. I took this photo through the bars in the wall that surrounds our school. You can faintly see the same mountain range in the distance.

This shot was taken last Friday afternoon. I had a planning period, so I decided to sit at an outdoor table with my laptop and enjoy the view along with the slight breeze off the ocean.

And this will put things into perspective. I took this photo on last Friday evening. I was sitting at my teacher’s desk, and that’s what I see. Distracting much?

And this will give a little better perspective, showing my students’ desks and the view that they have right outside.

I realize how lucky I am and just had to share it with you.
