What I do in Preparation for a Drama Party

Step one: chop a whole bunch of peppers

Red and green Thai peppers. Not the really spicy kind, but they have enough burn to give a nice slow, satisfying feel. I have no idea what the actual name of this pepper is. Anyone?

Step two: Simmer some garlic in a vinegar/water mix (5-1 ratio) and pour over peppers in hot canning jars.

Step two: chop up a 8 kg of red, ripe tomatoes. Add more chopped peppers, onions, sugar, lime juice, salt, and top with vinegar. Here’s what it looks like:

Oh yeah, that’s smelling good. Do a lot of taste testing? Sweet enough? Sour enough? Salty enough? Spicy enough?

Step Four: Enjoy the final result.

Seven and half quarts of salsa. Three quarts of pickled peppers.

Invite students. Have the most amazing drama-costume-Mexican food party that is possible. This is how I get ready for it.

Coming this weekend!
