A Three Book Writing Update

Last night, I wrote the first five hundred words of my next novel. I have a planned writing trip approaching on June 1, and I wanted to make sure I had a head start on the next ideas rattling around in my brain. I’ve had this idea for a number of years. It’s technically a type of sequel, but not really. I’m writing it as a standalone novel even though it’s in the same universe as my novel “A Love Story for a Nation.” If you’ve read it, it will add to the richness of what I’m now writing, but it won’t be prerequisite to enjoy this one. I can’t, however, give you it’s name yet because it would give too much away. I am toying with a very interesting type of narrator. We shall see how it develops.

In the meantime, two other books are finished and on their way. My completely unexpected childhood memoir The Logic of a Gen X Appalachian Boy will be available by mid-summer. This is a book I never intended to write. One day I thought I would jot down some stories of my childhood for my kids when something quite unexpected happened: I discovered writing about memories is quite a creative endeavor. Who knew? I had such a good time with this very short book that I decided to release it into the wild. I figured, why not?

My fourteenth novel is finished and currently being edited. This one has been a long time coming. Written over a three year period, it is my longest and perhaps, most intricate novel. Tesler & the Burning Bush. I’ll post the promo-blurb and cover soon. This one is written in three parts about two different time periods eight years apart. I’ve become quite fond of this novel. Time shall tell if others feel the same. It will release this fall, three years after my last release. I can’t believe that much time has passed. It’s not like I haven’t been writing these past three years.

Oh, and I got some new e-book covers for my Forgotten Child Trilogy. I should post those too! Soon.

Keep creating!
