My Vietnam Fantasy Novel: FREE on Kindle – Limited Time!

I lived in Vietnam for approximately ten years. It changed me in many ways. I learned a second language. I took a deep dive into the culture and history of the region. When I left Vietnam, many lessons stuck with me. One of those lessons was about the amazing resiliency of the Vietnamese people throughout history. I took some of those folk stories and the knowledge I had of Hanoi, and I created a contemporary Vietnamese fantasy. This novel ended up being my love letter to the Vietnamese people, and a way to say thank you for all those years.

This story is rather crazy. A great heroine from the past is summoned. A giant turtle plays a role. Ancient soldiers are awakened. The great tourists places of modern Hanoi play a prominent role in trying to free a resilient people from a modern occupation by traditional northern foe.

Here’s part of the novel’s description: “A giant turtle, an ancient lost bird, a demon warrior, a mysterious beast and a resolute heroine come face to face with old Mr. Tho and his two neighbors in a thrilling adventure to save Hanoi from utter destruction. Lady Trieu and the Demon Warrior of Hanoi is a contemporary fantasy adventure, which explores a common theme in Vietnamese history: the struggle for a national identity.”

Reviewers say: “Spellbinding – “A magical adventure” – “I had a blast with this book.”

You can have a blast too! It’s FREE for the first time ever, all weekend long on Amazon Kindle ebook.

(One funny note: One reviewer gave the book a poor review and wondered why the author was so obsessed with Lady Trieu’s breasts! I have to admit, this comment made me laugh out loud. I do mention in the book about the size of Lady Trieu’s breasts, but there is a reason for that and it has nothing to do with an obsession. (haha!) I wanted to stay true to the folk stories and even drawings of the ancient warrior Ba Trieu (Lady Trieu). She is always depicted and described in folklore as having extremely large breasts. Check out the Wikipedia page of Lady Trieu to see one of the traditional drawings of her. You’ll then know what I mean. So, take this for what it’s worth!)
